Strainers

A Strainer is installed in a pipeline to remove particles and solids from the flow to protect downstream equipment such as pumps, valves and instrumentation.

Common types: Y-strainer, basket Strainer and double-Basket Strainer; the choice depends on the type of flow, the flow rate of the line and the degree of filtration required.

The main parameters for selection: line diameter and connections, working pressure and temperature, construction materials, mesh size (Mesh/µm) and allowable pressure loss
